The first building built for First Baptist Church Flowood was constructed in 1941, with the site being donated by Wirt Adams. The original church was named “Pearl City Baptist”, before being changed in 1953 to “First Baptist Church Flowood”. In 1950, a new wing was added consisting of the baptistery, kitchen, choir room, nursery, office, and classrooms. In 1961, the auditorium was extended to meet the needs of the growing congregation. In 1997, due to the widening of Highway 49, First Baptist Church Flowood moved to its current location at 1649 Old Fannin Road, Flowood, MS. The move was a very trying time for both the staff and the congregation, but the Lord guided the members of the body during this ordeal. When the move was finalized, a new sanctuary was built as well as one education wing. A few years later, due to further growth of the congregation, a second education wing was built. Most recently, in August of 2016, we built our new sanctuary that we currently hold our services in weekly.
Over the years, there have been many pastors that have served this great body of believers. Our previous pastors include: B.H. Benton, W.S. Landrum, W.N. Hegwood, David Barnhill, W.L. Heath, W.H.
